Did someone say buttons? I am a collector of buttons and think it all started when I was little and playing in my mom’s sewing room. She would let me dump out all her buttons in a tin and count them, sort them, and name all the colors.
I use them all the time on my scrapbook pages and cards. My favorite use is for the centers of flowers or using tiny ones as background polka dots, the eyes for stamped frogs/bugs, or the spots for ladybugs. If you have a lot of mismatched buttons that are great for covering old picture frames. You can leave them as is or after you get them glued onto the frame you can spray paint the frame in colors to match your decor.

Congratulations to the top Ten! Fantastic work ladies. As for what I use buttons for, I use them for lots of things. As the center of flowers, the tiny ones I sometimes use as rain drops on collage images. I use them as accents on cards, sometimes they become the base for a jewelry piece and I even use the little ones as joints on dolls. And of course, I sew them on shirts, things like that.

I love the cards of the top ten! That life sucks may have to be duplicated! As for buttons – these are great!
I have two planned uses for some colorful buttons. One is to use the buttons as you would your fingerprint in ed emberly’s drawings. A button can take the place of a fingerprint for everything from birds to mice to bees.
I also have just begun to make spinner cards and a button is just perfect for the flower/sun/shaped center of the spinner.
Pick me! Pick me!! LOl

Most of my crafting time the past five years or so has been spent quilting, but I’m gearing up to do some big-time card making and scrapbooking soon. My most creative use of buttons has been sewing them on a quilted Christmas tree. The buttons were the ornaments. I love the way buttons are oftentimes just the right embellishment on a card and the PTI button colors are to die for.

not that I would know firsthand [ seriously, NOT]
(btw, PTI just released a button bits stamp set that I am drooling over — these buttons would be perfect with that set!)

I love to use bottons for my scrapbooking pages. My brother in law recently went through a divorce and moved out of state away from his children. So, I made him a scrapbook with pictures of the children, the cover was filled with buttons. Every time I get a new picture of the children I send him a scrapbook page to add to his book. I put at least one button on each page. The kids absolutly love it!! He cried!! Lol

Like a lot of people, I love making homemade embellishments with buttons. Sometimes by adding them onto flowers, ribbon/bows, punched paper shapes etc. . . .and sometimes to add unsuspecting texture to a page (ex. I recently painted/distressed buttons and added them to DP to look like sand/rocks on a beach themed page).
