Welcome to Black Freebie Friday! I hope everyone had a fabulous feast yesterday and was able to find a few minutes to reflect and “give thanks”.
While many of you will be dressing your Christmas tree today, I’m sure there’s just as many who will be starting their day a tad bit earlier than the rest of us. For those of you who are braving the crowds for all the Black Friday sales, I tip my hat to you. I am most definitely NOT a morning person. Unless you refer to “morning” as 12 a.m.!
Since I know many of you get your creative mojo in wee hours of the night, I know how precious those few uninterrupted hours can be. And since we’re entering the busiest time of the year, we all need to make the most of our creative time. After all, Christmas is less than a month away!
Which is why I love our Gift Trios feature in our November/December issue. If you’re looking to save time and supplies, why not make a matching tag, bag and card? Incorporate the same product into three different projects and take the guesswork out of the equation.

Paper Crafts Pro Wendy Johnson's Poinsettia Trio appeared in our November/December issue.
I love how perfectly these projects coordinate with one another. Who wouldn’t love to receive these gems for the holidays? If you’d like to download the pattern for Wendy’s cute box, click HERE.
In honor of Black Friday, I’ve got two prize packages that you don’t even have to leave the house to fight over! Leave a comment telling me if you plan on shopping ’til you drop today or taking it easy and enjoying the long weekend. I’ll pick two winners to receive a copy of Holidays Cards & More, Vol. 4 and Making Memories Flowers stamp set. (I can totally see these stamps used as snowflakes, wreaths, poinsettia flowers, etc!) All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, Nov. 29.

Two lucky winners will each take home these prize package!
Happy Black Friday!
Kelly

The only shopping I plan to do this weekend is on the computer and sadly, it will not be shop till you drop – just a quick order for some copic refills and I am done! I plan on spending the weekend enjoying family…..Christmas shopping will just have to wait!

Staying home and relaxing – no shopping for me. I make it a practice to avoid the roads on Black Friday as they are usually congested with shoppers. Best to stay home and craft instead!

I’m fortunate to have a husband willing to brave the crowds for a princess keyboard for our daughter. He was out of the house at 4:30am and home by 6:15 with the present. Woo-Hoo. Now I get to stay home and relax the rest of the weekend.

No Black Friday for me as I live in The Netherlands. But I love bargains, a lot! I even bought my Silhouette SD in the US because it was half price and the shipping wasn’t too bad.
I wouldn’t mind winning the magazine and stamps.

I will not be shopping this morning, I am already at work. I did run into more than usual traffic this morning. Hope every one that has the day off, enjoys it.
PS: My Christmas shopping is done, I hope to get out the decorations after work today.

I didn’t get up early today, but I’ll be going out later on when the crowds die down a bit. We’re getting the tree tomorrow, so tonight I’ll be pulling out the ornaments and getting everything ready to go.

No shopping today, yet! If the opportunity arises for a bit of fun, I might venture out. There’s plenty to do to erase the fall look of the house and decorate for Christmas. All I need is a push, a big push, in the right direction!

My husband got up at 4 AM to get a gift for or son (so yes, I woke up too). But, at 515, I woke up again- he was back because he’d “given up” at Wally world! People had already been there for a while and has their carts full, just waiting to check out!
So- any other shopping I do today will be online!
Hope some other people have better luck today. Thanks for the chance to win!

Canadian, Eh! – no shopping as normal work day. I am not a shop till you drop or into lining up for hours to get a bargain. On-line shopping can be wonderful especially with some of the sales being offered. On holidays, prefer to spend it at home with family.

If I could shop til I drop I would…but with hubby at work I just can’t drag two kiddos around all over the place with me, especially with all the crowds. However, when my boys woke up this morning we did head over to Fred Meyer to get a few great deals there and it wasn’t crazy at all! Now we’re at home and waiting for some friends to come over and enjoy the day! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

No crowd fighting for me……………….I do most of my shopping online and today I intend to spend it in my craft room. At least a few hours. Then I may drag out the Christmas decorations and get the house all glitzed up for Christmas. I won’t get my tree until Saturday. That is our tradition; The Saturday after Thanksgiving we go cut our tree and then Sunday the grands come and decorate it. Love this time of year!

DH and I went Christmas shopping before the “rush”. So we just went to town today to shop and have fun. I enjoy the “hustle and bustle” of the holiday season.
P.S. I’m not an early bird either…..but I manage to get up early at least once a year. I’m sure paying for it now!

Ok, so here’s the deal… I was NOT going to go out today, but at the last minute I decided to go to Kohls around 10am. Why I though it was a good idea I don’t know. I walked around and then found the line. It was all the way to the back of the store. Needless to say, I left. Why, oh, why did I go out?
Eh, oh well. It was a good day.

The Flamingo flew out of bed at 3:30 am and winged her way to Walmart for the Cricut Expression. Arriving at the store at 4:30 am I was able to round up a sleek, black model with not a minute to spare as there were only three more left.
Another half hour of shopping was followed by a half hour of standing in line. I arrived home by 6 am and was out the door for round two from 8:15 to 11:15. The rest of the day hasn’t been too productive, with just one Christmas card added to the growing pile of creations today!

Luckily I got in and got out safely. Hope I win, I could sure use some inspiration for my holiday cards this year!!!

We celebrated Thanksgiving today, so no shopping for me. Perhaps tomorrow, but I have pretty much decided to cancel Christmas shopping this year. Too stressful! Yesterday, Friday the 27th, was a holiday in my country. And today, Saturday, off of everything, and tomorrow is Sunday. So we have 3 days holiday. My family and I stayed at home, enjoying each other. Yesterday we cooked a simple cake. This morning we cooked oxtail soup. And tomorrow we’ll cook a baked noodle, my fave. So obviously, I stay at home the whole weekend. It’s a precious moment I can have with the members of my family. Thanks for a chance to win. Happy weekend….

I have been so wanting the holiday cards magazine, but just can’t justify being indulgent – but it is on my WISHLIST !! I’m more of an internet shopper – just don’t like crowds. So I did get some great deals on line and have officially made a start on my holiday shopping. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I had hoped to stand in line at my local scrapbook store to purchase a Cricut Expression which has been on my wish list for a long time but my 11 year old son had emergency surgery on Friday morning. He tripped and fell at a friend’s house several days ago and it turns out he sheared the cartilege on his pinky. The surgeon was concerned that if he didn’t operate right away my son would lose all mobility in that finger. The shopping trip flew out of my mind as we waited for the surgery to be over and now we have been keeping him comfortable.

I did go out on Black Friday, a friend had a coupon for slippers at Costco. It had opened at 9am, we did not get there untill about 10:30, so it was not bad. Got the slippers (and some other stuff – of course!) and then headed home. I have a desk full of cards in the works, leftovers for dinner, had a good day. We saw crowds at Electronic store, and Target, but passed them up. Thanks for the chance to win.

I took it easy since I was not feeling that well the last day or two and since there weren’t that many items that we needed. So I slept in and ran errands in the afternoon.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Not shopping or taking it easy. We throw a huge Christmas party for all our friends next weekend. It’s our gift to them so we’re baking and cooking ’til we can’t see straight ;- ) Friends come from up to 9 hours away just for the day!

I decided a couple of years ago that I would no longer get up at 4AM to go shopping on Black Fridays! I do most of my shopping on line these days. Most of my gifts have to be mailed out of state anyway, so this eliminates the P.O. AND mall trips. I like to take the weekend to decorate the house for Christmas.

I have never been a Black Friday shopper and this year was no exception. I guess I got the aversion to it when on one occasion I had to return something to the store on December 26th… the crowds and the chaos just about did me in! So Black Friday, unh uh… nope. I’ll be happily at home making some Christmas cards. Thanks for the chance to win one of my favorite publications.

My DD and I went shopping at 4:30 a.m. We started this tradition last year and have so much fun. Her girls sleep in and her hubby wouldn’t dream of shopping at that hour either. So off we go!! Back home by 7:15 a.m. and were happy….but tired!! Great giveaway…I love those stamps!!

Love that pointsettia trio! What a lovely coordinated combo! I didn’t take in any sales this year. Even here in Canada, we do get some of the same sales at the US stores. Next year I’m thinking of planning to visit friends for Thanksgiving and would then partake in some of the black Friday shopping…but probably none of that midnight or 4 am stuff! *lol* And today is the Grey Cup final (Canadian Football Leage final), so I’ll enjoy the afternoon munching and hanging with friends. =)

I did a little shopping, but I have yet to perfect the art of maximizing Black Friday. I must not be very good at figuring out where/what the best deals are — or I just cherish my sleep too much!

I stayed in except to go to the PO to mail a swap and to get lunch. DH was off from work and he did a bit of Black Friday online shopping for me and it was a huge help! I am NOT a morning person and NOT a crowd person. I’ll go out the next weekend or two and have a bit of shopping done so I’m just a bit behind. This was fun to read. Thanks! Paula

I was traveling on Black Friday, but wouldn’t have been out in the masses anyway. I did shop on Saturday and found everything I wanted at great prices (mostly Cricut cartridges

Of course I braved the crowds of Black Friday and the first stop was Michael’s to get a new Cricut cartridge. (My husband won’t go near the stores on BF and I hate to see him pay full price on a gift for me. LOL!!) Next, it was on to Target, Macy’s and a host of other stores. I’d say I’m 75% done with my shopping. Bring on Cyber Monday!

I braved the Mall of America in Minneapolis on Black Friday and it was crazy! I did get some things checked off of my Christmas list though.
